Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) became one of the destinations included in the State Visit program of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Her Excellency Datin Laila Utama Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, and the First Gentleman, Mr. Prindon Sadriu, along with their delegation.


The arrival of the President of the Republic of Kosovo and her delegation was welcomed by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, as Chairman of the BKISHHB Advisory Board, and his wife.

 
Her Excellency Datin Laila Utama Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu then signed the guest book and subsequently received a souvenir.


After that, the President of the Republic of Kosovo proceeded to tour the gallery of the building, accompanied by a briefing and explanation by the Director of BKISHHB, Dr. Haji Awang Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Awang Ahmad.


Also in attendance was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and his wife.


BKISHHB, an iconic Islamic architectural marvel that is grand and modern, was designed by renowned architects PEI Architects and built on one of the highest points in Bandar Seri Begawan, located on Jalan Pengiran Babu Raja, just about three kilometers from the city center.


BKISHHB was officially opened by Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on 13 Safar 1441 Hijrah, corresponding to 12 October 2019.

 
Furthermore, BKISHHB also represents the intellectual leadership of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in sustaining, empowering, and preserving Islamic civilization and culture, as well as promoting Islamic knowledge and heritage globally.

 
There are nine permanent galleries exhibiting Islamic treasures from the personal collection of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia, encompassing various artifacts such as Qur'anic manuscripts, Arabic, Persian, and Malay manuscripts; prayer beads, staffs, fossils, Islamic astronomical instruments, as well as the Blessed Hair of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, a fragment of the burdah, replicas of the Prophet's sword and those of his companions, and many more.


BKISHHB is also equipped with several world-class facilities including an auditorium, conference rooms, meeting rooms, VIP lounges, a conservation lab, and a prayer room.


Its beautiful architecture and Islamic treasure collections are hoped to make it a landmark and one-stop destination for Islamic tourism.
